Rates
Carpentry rates, not tiling's
Fit-off, framing and custom detail each carry their own rate, with separate linear rates for joinery, mouldings and finish work. Set them once and reuse them on every quote.
Built for carpentry
A carpenter signing up for Scopeflow gets carpentry rate fields. Fit-off, framing and custom detail work, joinery detail, trims and mouldings, seal and finish, with a site setup allowance of its own.
Carpenters in Australia charge roughly $55-$130 per hour, averaging around $85 per hour, with day rates for qualified carpenters in metro areas running $500-$1,100 depending on experience and job complexity (source: ServiceSeeking's 2026 carpenter cost guide).
Carpentry quotes mix hourly labour with material and hardware that changes job to job. That is exactly the mix that turns into a spreadsheet nobody trusts by the third revision.
What you get
Rates
Fit-off, framing and custom detail each carry their own rate, with separate linear rates for joinery, mouldings and finish work. Set them once and reuse them on every quote.
Labour
Price by measured area, by linear metre, by hours, or all three on the same quote. Set your hourly rate, minimum job price and margin as defaults.
Custom work
Custom joinery and specialist detail get their own rate rather than being averaged into standard fit-off work.
Multi-area
Deck, pergola, internal fit-off. Add each as its own space with its own measurements and get one combined quote.
Variations
Add extra items with their own description, price and note, so a variation reads as a variation instead of a changed total.
Output
GST handled correctly, your licence number on the document, formatted properly and emailed straight to the client.
Your rate fields
Pick Carpentry in your profile and the pricing fields become Fit-off works ($/m²), Framing works ($/m²), Custom detail ($/m²), Site prep ($/m²), Joinery detail ($/lm), Trims / mouldings ($/lm), Seal / finish ($/lm), a site setup allowance, and a materials allowance. Alongside them sit your hourly rate, minimum job price, margin, GST treatment, payment terms and quote validity.
The job type list changes with it: Fit-off package, Framing package, Deck carpentry, Custom joinery install, Renovation carpentry works. Every field arrives with a starting number in it. They are a starting point to overwrite with your real rates, not a claim about what you should charge.
Add each room or structure as its own space. Fit-off, framing and custom detail measured separately, joinery and moulding metres alongside them, all rolled into one quote.
Material list
Every quote generates a schedule of what you measured, named the way carpenters name it. Each measured area with its waste percentage applied, your prep area, every linear run, and your estimated hours. It is grouped, copy-ready, and can be emailed to your supplier from inside the app. Save your own supplier prices under My Prices and they get matched against it, so the figures are yours rather than a guess at the market.
What it does not do yet, plainly: it will not convert your measurements into specific products and quantities. Tiling gets tile counts, adhesive and grout bags, membrane and levelling clips. Painting gets litres of paint at real coverage rates. Carpenters do not have that product-level takeoff yet, because doing it properly means real carpenter-specific rules rather than tiling's with the labels changed. It is the next thing we build for a trade once someone in it is actually using Scopeflow. Everything else on this page is live today.
